A Public Service Message from N

Dear Family,

You know the heater near the bathroom? I accidentally dropped some H2O on the heater by accident. It smells bad. Don't go in the hallway!

P.S. It smells bad!
You know, I had written a whole post about this note, which I found on the white board in the kitchen the other night, right before N went to bed. It talked about the challenges he's had in writing, and why this one note is a real breakthrough.

But you know what? It took all the fun out of it. (H2O! He slays me!) And so, instead, I'm going to say only this:

It really did smell bad.

You don't need the whole post - the note says it all. It is long, it is detailed and it uses kidspell quite well. My reaction on seeing it (and not reading your post) was that N is really going to be fine in the long run. He is smart and capable and just needs to help to figure out how to deal with the big, scary world around him.

OMG, this is priceless. And, you know, I think Meg is right. And I know you are working hard to get him that help to figure it all out and find his way.

It must've really smelled bad from the emphasis he put on it! LOL

I love samples of kids' writing. So fun, and such a nice little peek into their souls (or, uhm, nostrils).

Recently my daughter made a list of what she and her guest were planning to do on a playdate. It started with eating "cheter macirony and cheeze."

I love kidspell, since they spell things the way THEY say them :D!

How nice of him to give you all fair warning about the smell :)! "accidentally... by accident" hee!!

Heh. Mali just asked, "Did I write that?" It really is fantastic writing. I hope Leo gets there!
