What my editor changed it to: If you’ve been hitting the treadmill already, however, feel free to continue working out (with your bad self!).
What I thought when I saw that change: Oooooohhhhhh, so you mean for this to be read by parents who are UNDER the age of 75! I get it now!

That's funny. I'm picturing those T-shirts in the 70s with the cartoon guy with the LOOOONG stride and "Keep on Truckin'" written below him :D.
I gotta say, though, that "with your bad self" is not exactly contemporary.
Is "with your bad self" that much different than "keep on truckin'?" I thought they appealed to the same bunch.
Hm.
And then I read Po's comment, and then I felt redundant.
